Rognes
A small village recognised for its numerous floral displays ("Village Fleuri" label), built in a listed natural site, this is in an ideal base from which to discover the Luberon, the Alpilles and the Montagne Sainte-Victoire. Here you can discover and enjoy its beautiful stone buildings, savour truffles and the superb wines it has on offer.
A stroll through its narrow streets will show you its rich historical heritage, built up over hundreds of years.
Aix en Provence (capital city of Provence)
With its superb XVII and XVIII century architecture Aix invites a stroll among its town houses, fountains, intimate squares, churches, and historic sites. This university town has preserved a rich cultural heritage with a strong accent on visual arts and music. Its summer festival is world famous.
The Sainte Victoire mountain
Paul Cézanne, Aix’s most renowned son, is omni-present : his itineraries in town, the grandiose views of, and from, the summit of Sainte Victoire, and the fragrance of the wild flora of Provence itself, all evoke the presence of the “maître d’Aix”.
The Luberon (mountain range)
This beautiful mountain range with its oak and cedar forests, perched villages : Ménerbes, Oppède, Bonnieux, and its summit, the Mourre Noir, the curious stone huts, bories, rises between the Alps and the Mediterranean.
